Where does the glove box tension piston go?

Where does the glove box tension piston go?
I replaced the cabin filter on my 06 Lexus ES330. All went well until the piston thing on the right side dropped down. What does it attach to? There are two molded holes above where the screww attaches it to the glove box. How and what do I do to install this? Help
