All,

On my 2000 ES, all of a sudden the left turn signal really clicks away like crazy, while the right turn signal clicks as always. I checked the lights on the left side, and they both work, but again the left turn signal clicks away madly and 10x faster than the right...any ideas? I am guessing some sort of sensor or something.

Thanks - if you don't mind, can you point me to where that relay is? Under the hood or elsewhere? I can get one of those relays for $40 bucks.

I am not telling you to replace the relay. I am saying it could be a faulty relay. You will have to check yourself. It is located on the left wall right beside your left foot "rest" pedal.

Of course - I understand. I guess that's what I meant, to check it first and if it did need to be replaced that it would only be $40. I just needed to know where it was!!

If the bulbs all check out and aren't burned out, but it's still doing this, it's likely the bulb sockets for the front turn signals. They're removable and it's a common problem on this car (it happened to mine).

They somehow get corroded (even though mine looked perfect) and just need to be replaced. I tried cleaning mine and sanding down the contact points, but they still had too much resistance to work properly. You can find them at the dealership, and it's a simple job of pulling them off where they clip into the harness.

It is Not the relay, as there is one relay total that controls both left and right. It is one of the left side bulbs. I know they both are blinking But trust me it is a resistance issue.

I had the same problem with my 96 ES300 except the right side was blinking faster, bulbs were good. I went thru the tail lights and front signal lights, cleaned all the contacts with a contact cleaner pencil thing I bought at RadioShack and "sprung" the little contacts just a bit to help them make better contact with the bulbs. Applied just a very light film of silicon dialectic to the base of all the bulbs for extra protection. Problem solved. Of course I had the ignition and lights all turned off while doing this to prevent accidental shorting and burning up the wiring harness.
If the lights are working and flashing, the relay is usually working and bulbs good, so time to check and clean the contact points and anyplace there is a coupling in the circuit.
Took about an hour or two to do all the signal bulbs. Didn't touch or mess with the head light bulbs.
Always, always, did I mention to always, remember to have everything turned off when doing anything to the electrical system, better yet, disconnect the battery at the negative terminal

I had this same issue but mine happened because I had a bad bulb.

Swap your bulbs from one side to the other and see what happens. If the other side starts blinking faster, you know it's the bulb.
