Default Head light smoking after i unpluged the wroung thing

Hi, i have a 2003 es300 , last night my left low beam light burned out , i went to change it and noticed another plug-in to the right of it that plug into the car but not a light , i noticed that this plug run into all the other lights so i wanted to know what it was so i unpluged it , when i did the top corner of my head light started smoking smelling like plastic , so i run cut the car off , plug the plug back in that i unplug that was right of the head light that didnt hook to any lights , it stop smoking but i still smell the plastic smell but no smoke this time , what did i do , i put the lights all back in and now there is nothing , but when i unpluged that 1 plug it made the top light smoke and smell , should i have this check out it has stoped smoking but i am scared it may have melted something that i can see , plese help me i dont want to burn my car up

A good rule of thumb is to always add pictures. Most people have short attention spans and when they see a fairly long paragraph, they close the thread and look elsewhere. Another reason you might not get any responses is because people don't have a clue or the description is very vague.

But good luck, I really have no idea what might have happened.
