I think the IS250 or IS350 will fit you very well.

Funny;

I would always go to Jiffy Lube, at about 150k i switch to a high mileage oil.
Stopped changing my transmission fluid once i say a problem with the trans.
I know what happened. I live in Chicago and i was trying to get out of a snow filled driveway and gunned
the reverse and drive until i messed it up.
Reverse in cold is great. In the summer once the car warms up there is i have to make sure i'm not at a decline otherwise forget it.

Of course brakes and tires were changed periodically but thats a given.

I will leave the oil leak. Its sad. I have kind of avoided repairs cause i was thinking i was just going to get a new car. Now i feel bad to just trade it in but my family and friends and telling me to get rid of it.
i've had 14 great years with it. Thats most of my driving life. Before i had a Ford Probe 1990 at 16 which gave me 7 years and 140K until that was gone. But i expected that. Its a FORD. I'm glad i got that out of it.

Usually people don't FLUSH the transmission if there is an issue. Drain and fill is still perfectly fine!!

And where is the oil leaking from? If it is from the valve covers, the gaskets would only cost very little. Front crank seal and cam seals would take more money.

Valve cover gaskets -$40 + 1 hr labour.
Drain and fill transmission oil $20 + 15 mins labour

Maybe all it takes is $200.....

Would you ever consider buying used? I purchased my 97 es with 210k for $2900 and have since put 20k miles and about 600 bucks in maintnence.

Maybe buy a used ls or gs...

Of course though, you would have to amass a sum of cash to buy a nice used vehicle.

I am at 296000 , i have only had the car for about 2 months . i got the car off of a buddy to use as a work vehicle but after i cleaned it up to my surprise was a really nice looking vehicle . it is a 1993 es300 with IS rims on it . It was hit in the front so i got a new nose and fenders for it but it really surprises me cause it has so much pull for a car with 300000 miles on it . I think i am going to redo the motor or keep a spare block on standby but i really dont think i am going to need it any time soon . Oh yea gratz on the 300k mark

How about a new Camry? I heard the new redesign has completely transformed the character of the car. Maybe a 4 banger SE model? I'm just not a huge fan of the exterior, but that always grows on you.

i'm going to take it in this week and see what they can do.
I hope its just the valve covers. The oil is leaking causing smoke to come from the hood until it burns off.
Don't know the extent of the repair.

Drove the RX 350 over the weekend. Not bad. The interior wasn't anything special.

Default 335,000 miles

I just hit 335,000 miles on a 1997 Lexus 300 ES

Outside of gas and basic up keep the only major cost was Transmission, recently brakes and tires.

What's the record for miles⁉️

That's awesome!! I have a 1999 ES300 with 158k, and my plan is to drive it until there is no more drive left in it.

This gives me hope

Default congrats

'99 with 220K miles here.

I hope to join the 300K club as well. There's little point getting a new car with my commute and it's cheaper then new car payments.

As far as your next car assuming you don't need anything larger then an ES350 I'd look at the Accord Sport. It's about the same size with more power and driver feedback that's missing in the Lexus'. It also won't cost you 50K and be smaller like the GS. Some people like the Nissan Altima/Maxima as well but I don't like the current Nissan drive by wire feel.

Full disclosure I also owned a 2010 TL but had to move to a larger vehicle because of additional passengers that show up, eat my food and use car seats.

Default High mileage

I bought my 2004 ES330 April 21st with 206k on the odometer for under 5500 dollars. It was well taken care of. First owned by a sales rep who put 170k highway miles on it and sold it in 2012 to a woman who also drove it simply highway miles. It then sat on a dealer lot from September 2014 until I purchased it. I was leery about the mileage but test drove it and fell in love with it.

I'm 22 years old and have had a variety of beaters. They've all been American vehicles up until now.

Having the Lexus for a little over a month I am already at 210k and I love it. Its SOOOO QUIET. The ML sound system is incredible. At 70MPH I can actually have a conversation with somone on my phone and they don't even know I'm in the car. It is in immaculate condition. There is not a scratch on this car that I can see. You can't hear anything when you're inside the car. I love that you can roll the windows and moonroof down with the keyfob by holding the Unlock. Now I want to tint it, install remote start, and premium audio with aux and bluetooth. My ONLY complaint is the brakes are a bit too soft for my taste. And the stock low beams are JUNK. My dodge Neon had the most amazing brakes. I've missed so many deer with it. We get tons of deer in WI

I LOVE MY LEXUS. I hope it lasts 300k or more.

Default 97 es300 250k miles

Just hit 250k on my '97 es300 dd. Replaced water heater, water pump, water hoses, and valve covers which reduced but did not stop the leaks. Mechanics tell me the rear main seal needs replacing. Smells of oil in the garage shortly after parking it.

My goal is to drive it until it explodes, however it is my wife's dd so it's got to stay safe.

Any tips out there for replacing shocks/struts and the base they attach to without dropping 1k? Also I would like to fix the driver's side windshield washer fluid spout. Passenger's side works somewhat well.

Im struggling with a invalid

Car still runs like a dream. Quiet and great on smooth roads. Sound system is killer now what we threw in a single din aftermarket radio with hands free Bluetooth. Best $150 I've spent in a while.
