Question Has there ever been an F version of ES?

I am new to the forum. I live in New Zealand, having moved 5 years ago from California. I have owned several Lexus cars over the years, and really prefer them above all others. Right now, I have no Lexus.

I have been talking to a guy here in NZ who does a lot of trading in used Lexus cars. He is trying to sell me a car he is bringing in from Singapore, it is not in country yet. He says it is a 2004-2005 (first registered in Singapore in Dec 2004) ES300F, which he says has more bells and whistles than usual, and he is asking a premium price.

I know that Lexus has introduced some F versions, notably the IS-F. But has there ever been an ES-F? If I go for this deal, what am I getting into? I cannot check out the car yet, it is not in NZ yet, and the seller is about 1000 km away from me.

hahahahaha.

No. Buddy is trying to screw you on it. Note, the ISF only came out in 2008... and F-Sport was offered afterwards [the options on the other cars]

Aperantly there was such a model, as recent as 2006 at least, but not in the North American market. I just did a quick Google search and found several for sale in NZ.

Not sure what the differences are between the es300 andes300f but a ore thorough Google search should clarify it

I'm thinking its trim level. In Asian countries a lot of our std. equipment is still optioned.

Also, i looked into it, and the 'es300f' doesn't have anything specific change wise vs. our top-of-the-line ES300/330. I guess for the markets over there, its made to signify that it comes with leather, A/C, ABS, sound system, etc.

Maybe he is referring to the SportDesign special edition from 2004. It had adaptive variable suspension.

Thanks for the replies. I have googled up a lot more information for myself.

It seems the F is a trim option designation, and most of the ES300F cars I can find are in Singapore. The car in question is in NZ now, and I have seen pictures. Looks sharp! I probably will go ahead with the purchase.

I wish I could find a listing somewhere of what is included in the F option.
