2000 Lexus ES300 headlight led strip install help
I have just recently bought a led strip for my headlights for my 2000 Lexus ES300 and need help tapping into the headlights to power the led strips. I have searched online but have not found clear clut instructions on how to tap into the headlights to power the led strips...a step by step procedure (maybe with pics) would be very helpful, thank you!

You'll want to tap into the source for the low beams so the strips only go on when your headlights are on. You can probably get away with using a quick snap wire splice available at Radioshack. Then just ground the other end. This is a simple project.

Thank you for your response. i have tried pulling out the low beam, however i am confused as to which wires to use and connect. when i pulled out the connector for the low beam there was a white wire and a black wire connected to a black connector and i do not know where to go from there, unless i am looking in the wrong place. i have never done this before, detailled instructions would be very helpful =]

I'm not sure there are "detailed instructions" for this. I can check my wiring diagrams tomorrow to see which wire is the positive but I'm guessing it's the white one you mentioned (black is usually ground). I'm not sure of the guage of the low beam wires but you may be able to use the snap on splice I talked about above. You basically thread the LED's wire into the splice connector and snap it onto the low beam positive wire; it's easier than soldering.
If you plan on doing the install neatly, you're gonna need to open up your headlights to place the strip.

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it alot. My only concern was having to splice the factory wires or something to be able to tap the led lights into the headlights, which was something I did not want to do in case I mess up. It is not worth messing up the headlights over $20 led strips. The only remaining question I have is, is there an empty slot or something in the low beam positive wire for the splice connector so I can snap it in?

Alright thank you I see what to do now, with your wiring diagram can you let me know which wires I would have to use? I want the leds to turn on when I turn my headlights on at night or have them running all the time by connecting them to the turn signal wires...after this information I can begin the installation =]

i was looking into getting this hid kit for my 2000 ES300:
http://www.hidkits.net/hid-kits?bulb...xus|2000|ES300
i read online that as long as the bulb from the hid kit is the same size as the factory (h7 halogen) one its replacing and has a cap that hides the bulb from direct view, i will not have any glare problems and have a good cutoff even though i have a halogen reflector housing...can anyone confirm?

^ unless you have a projector, or OEM HID housings. There will be glare.
With that said, not too bad when compared to many cars out there. The light dispersal is pretty decent for a PNP kit.
Regarding the modification you talk about, its a pain, and not worth it since the results still vary. You can't perfect HID's in halogen housings, even with a glare shield.
I run a PNP kit in my car, since i've not have had any luck tracking down OEM hid housings to date, and will probably retrofit it in the spring time.
And since you're in the US, buy from one of the CL vendors [in the marketplace] a lot of promo's for HID kits in the 50$ range. No need to spend more.
