Default Changed spark plugs

2001 ES300 plug change wasn't so difficult. About an hour to do it. Back three were not as difficult as I thought it would be . Did not have to remove any additional parts to get to plugs. Good for another 100,00 miles with NGK Iridiums.

got check engine light for P0136 which was a oxygen sensor for after catalytic convertor. So i went ahead and order oem part online and changed it. No more codes . The sensor was connected underneath drivers seat. The dealer would have to remove the seat. But I just put the seat all the way front and unplugged it from underneath. It was tight area to play with but can be done. Saved dealer labor fee .

Default Alternator plug cleaned

Battery would not charge up. Check with meter at battery while engine running, 12.1 volts. Revved to 2000 rpms, still 12.1 volts. Checked alternator belt. Checked the alt hot wire bolt and it had 14.1 volts So, I double checked battery connections , good.. Checked alternator bolt , tight. Next step , with car off, unplugged the the alternator harness to check condition of the blades. Found gunk inside plug end covering blades. Cleaned with carb cleaner, blew dry with compessed air and replugged it back in the alt. Lo and behold! Battery getting 13.6 volts and charged up !!!! Been three days now and no more dead battery

Ever since I owned my 92 ES300 5 speed I never checked the timing on the distributor, especially since I rebuilt the engine in 2011. I finally got time to do it and timing was off about 4 degrees suspected (6 degrees BTDC). Did the adjustment according to the specs (10 degrees BTDC) and then advanced it about 5 since I'm running premium fuel and reduce pinging. Feels smoother now since I did that and made the test drive. 301k may scare people with the 3vzfe but it has been reliable and fun to drive. Got other things to tackle to make it perform like new and do exhaust work before making another dyno run this summer.

i asked on another thread but the thread seemed dead, so i'll try and ask here.

is there a front lip that can be used for another vehicle on the 99 ES thats may fit with no to little modification? for example, i had a 92 accord and used a 94 legend front lip. the legends that generation had 3 different lips for their coupes and sedans. one of the lips fit prefect and the other 2 fit with small modifications. i've been looking at the 98-02 accord and it looks like the sedan front bumper is shaped kinda similar to the ES front bumper. has anyone tried using a different vehicle OEM or aftermarket lip on their 3ES?

My battery light came on a few days ago, and eventually my car would not start. It never died while driving, but I could tell something was wrong because the headlights were really dim and the radio kept cutting out.

Had it checked out at Advance Auto Parts and had to get a new alternator put in............literally just did this yesterday. Next up is to get the bushings done on steering and rack & pinion.

I installed Pioneer Appradio 4 on my 2005 es330. It looks great, sounds great but the system has some glitches. It stops reponding sometimes and needs to be rebooted. kind of annoying. I also bought a steering wheel control interface (PAC SWI-RC) but couldn't get it working yet which is also annoying. their manual sucks.

And how's the ride quality? Stiffer?
I personally would've kept the OEM springs and mounts.

Did you struggle with removing the back seat?

Ride quality is a tad bit stiffer than usual, however still rides soft. The OEM mounts in the rear were worn as were the springs. The fronts weren't bad, but I didn't want to mess around with springs.

I'm hanging on to all of the old strut assemblies so if these monroe's give me trouble later, then I'll rebuild the old struts off the car and then install them.

Removing the seat was pretty easy and didn't take long. But that's only because I watched your video beforehand, so I knew what to expect going into it. The only "difficult" part was undoing the plastic latches on top of the seat that hold the seat belt. They were very stiff, I was afraid to break them.
