What have you done to your ES today?

Changed bank 2 coils... [2,4,6]
Last night in the drivethru my interior starts chaking/steering wheel vibrating [in gear, stopped]. Great, seconds later trac off, minutes later flashing CEL. Drove it to work & back [~3 min drive].
Goddamnit. Misfire.
Got to the shop the front cat was glowing red [10 min drive]. Looked around for possible causes, other 1MZ's reported issues like this as well.
I assumed OCV, then read to check the VVT actuator; tested working perfectly fine - therefore OCV can't be the cause... as it is mechanical and relates to that functioning VVT actuator. And throws different codes [iirc p1349/59] when it's a straight misfire its P300,302, etc.
Anyways, all three coils sh&t the bed for whatever reason, 300$ later she runs again

Sh&t's ****ed again. Made three trips today totaling <10mi.
Great! Probably going to ruin my cat in the process as well!
Pissing me off... hopefully I can find a reasonable fix... I have the bug for something new... and the auction is coming up this weekend....

Only 132K and you had to change knock sensors and head gaskets? Was this car not taken care of properly?

Also, I must give you credit, Speedkar9!! I previously had a V6 Camry that DID have a major leak in the rear valve cover and your video guided me through it! Before then, I wasn't very familiar with the 1MZ-FE. You're a gem. Also liked your comment about "brother's toothbrush" amidst all my frustration, haha. Glad to see you on ClubLexus and your response to my post : )

New poster here...2003 ES - Original Owner
Not all done "today", but here are the things I've done recently. With 226K+ miles, I decided to freshen her up..
Replaced the original altenator
Replaced rear passenger door actuator
Replaced original 10+ year old tint with an 18 percent carbon tint all around
Restored the headlights
Added LED fog lights
Added XM tuner and service to my existing Pioneer system
Added a rear camera
Added a new set of hyper silver aftermarket wheels (stock size)
Touched up paint nicks all around
Clay-barred the whole car
Waxed whole car with turtle wax

Thanks! It's my first lexus. It has been babied pretty good. I probably paid more than I should have, but it's not every day you come across an '02 with 67k on the ticker and owned by a little old lady...literally.

Ordered a mountain of parts for my new-to-me 2000 ES300 with 159K miles:
AISIN Timing Belt kit with new idlers, tensioner, & Water Pump
Cam & Crank seals
Wiper Blades
Accessory Belts
PCV & Grommet
Valve Cover gaskets
Spark Plugs
Engine Air Filter
A/C Filter
Gas Cap
RockAuto.com - $288 shipped for everything. After that is done, I'll swap out fluids and this car should be good to go!
One of my other cars is a BMW M3 and I'm shocked at how cheap Toyota/Lexus parts are. Or, maybe I've just been conditioned to BMW's outrageous pricing!

Driver side fog light had water in it so it had that horrible looking condensation on it the past week. Took apart the fog light, cleaned, and resealed it. Now it looks back to normal
