KEY FOB/starting issues??
hello all, im going to pick up my new toy tonight, 2000 ES300 Platinum edition. Went to go see it last night and all power options work, interior in good condition, but she wont turn over. the seller says hes had the problem before and hes almost certain its the transponder on the key. but the key opens all the doors and trunk. is this a known issue? i dont think gas it going to the motor so the transponder is a possibility. any suggestions??
thanks

Unlocking the doors even by remote is not related to starting the car. There is a different signal for starting. Typically it'll set a code so you might want to pull codes and see if there is a code for the key.

I figured if the key is correctly programmed to the car, it should do all the functions needed, at least thats how nissan is. ill run the obd2 when i get home and see if its throwing one as i didnt see the SES blilnking
