Aftermarket Headlamp Housings
Hi... just noticed moisture in one of the headlamp housings on my 2000 ES. Was wondering if anyone here has any experience with aftermarket housings. I have seen many on Ebay going anywhere from $210 up to $300 for a pair. Not real enthusiastic about spending $500 for OE units... especially since I am currently unemployed so aftermarket is the ticket.

Unless factory replacements from part websites, I am completely against the Halo projector ebay crap that you can easily find. The cheapest option would be to open up your headlights, clean them, and then reseal them yourself. Other than that I'd look for a used OEM pair from a wrecked car, or just for sale on ebay.

Aside from possibly wheels and audio, I am long past the days of "modding" a car. I am looking for factory style replacements. Still curious if anyone has experience with the aftermarket housings...

I had one. I replaced it with a used OEM piece. The aftermarket one yellowed out [not the lens. but CHrome!]. Made by TYC - total garbage.
I'd restore yours to be honest... and then re-clear them [clearcoat] or buy some lamin-x/clear vinyl. After you sand them you remove the UV coating.

Where did you see $500 for headlights? I payed $180 + shipping and handling for my OEM headlight housing. Or did you mean for both?

Both, if I replace one then I'm going to replace them both. I might take a shot at fixing the one if I can figure out where the moisture is getting in at.
