I have a 96 ES 300 that started overheating the day I had the Power Steering Pressure line replace. I am not really trusting of Shops, but they are a last resort of evil. I told the guys that my car had never run hot before, and that I was 100% this was new and caused by something they had done. They told me in no way shape or form might this have anything to do with the work they have done.
I have also read much post here that say this might have something to do with a connection or a harness. I have checked everything around it and I cannot find anything that seems to be unplugged.
But here is what I am facing.
• Fan Speeds are very low / Never speed up
• When driving on the highway the car temp runs normal.
• Only when stopped at lights is the car running hot.
Another note: Might this have something to do with the Radiator Fan Motor Relay. I noticed when I looking in my Relay box that I had no Relay in the #1 Spot Labeled Fan1

The shop that did the work does not know what they are doing. The power steering system on your car also drives the radiator fan (it is a hydraulic fan, quite unique). There is a good chance they knocked off the connector going to the fan pressure regulator. This is a solenoid type device on the power steering pump, the connector going to this needs to be checked.

Or maybe they screwed something else up, but take it back and insist they fix what they broke. BTW, you can check yourself if this connector is plugged in, not that hard.

Thanks I am going to try to take a look for it today. I knew it was bad news when I had to tell them about the Fan Setup and they said "We have never seen anything like this?" I have read other post that spoke of something like this and they all say check this connection but I just did not know where it was. THanks I will let you know what I find.

Lex200 you nailed it. I looked and the cable was just hanging. I plugged it up and the fan started right up at high speed.

I still have to take it back to the shop. The line I had installed is now leaking again!!!

Did I say I hate going to shop!!!!!

Too bad they didn't fix it right the first time, hope you have better luck the 2nd time around. BTW, they may have forgotten an O-ring or washer, don't remember exactly what is there on this system, but worth mentioning to them.
