Question Access to heater fan motor assembly

My 2000 Lexus ES300 fan motor has started making a clicking noise that gets louder the faster the fan operates. I need advice on how to access the blower assembly so I can see what is making the noise and replace or repair the unit.

Default cabin filter inspection/replacement

My Lexus Owner's Manual has photos of how to access the cabin air filter. I will pull and inspect the filters, and work from that point. Thanks.

Cannot find the filters because my 2000 ES300 is not the same as what is shown in my Owners Manual. Could it be a 1999 or a 2001 Lexus?

The filter cover is there, just forward of the big plastic side plate. You can see one of the tabs at the top. Put your hand in there, find the tabs, squeeze together, pull the top of the cover away, then slide it up and out.

However, access to the blower motor requires glovebox and ECU removal.

Thanks, I see the tab. There is an electrical connection in the way that I will have to move. Then onto the removal of the glove box and ECU.

I pulled the really dirty old cabin filters and stuck my fingers inside to see if anything was in there. The blower cavity was full of mouse nest material. It was really packed with feathers, hair, leaves, seeds, hair *****, dirt, etc. I will need access to the blower motor assembly to fully clean it. The fan is quiet up to three bars of the five.

We cannot figure out how to remove the glove box. I have a Haynes Repair Manual for the Toyota Camry includes Avalon, Solara, and Lexus ES300 -- 1997 thru 2001. The manual has no meaningful information on how to remove the glove box for the Lexus. The Camry instructions to squeeze the sides in to allow the compartment to come back and down, reveals no mounting screws. I need better help to explain how to get access to the fan motor assembly.

Ok, get FSM's here http://www.turboninjas.com/camry/ then open Air Conditioning.pdf and go to page AC-28. Should be pretty easy.
