Default 97 es300 strut bar.

im looking to put a strut bar on my 97 es300. i heard that the ones from the toyota solara should fit it. does anyone know the year that i have to look for so that the strut bar fits my 97 es300 with no clearence problems?

do u guys know if a strut bar from an 01 solara will fit?? i can get one for 20 bucks from my local junkyard but i want to make sure it will fit with no clearence problems

the oem strut bar from the solara is the only strut bar that will fit without any clearance issues.

i just bought it today but it seems as if the holes dont match up the the strut mount bolts.

I took my little C-spacers off, then placed the strut bar on, then put back the C-spacers, thightened down all the bolts, then finished. The strut bar you purchased should work, you may have bend the bar a little to get the holes to match up. I had to bend my bar a little, so it would match up and to allow the hood to close easily. The bar does snuggly hit the insulation under the hood, but no big problem. Just make sure you are not hitting the intake manifold or EGR valves. Otherwise the engine my vibrate onto the strut bar and cause annoying vibration sounds. Good luck.

how do u bend the bar? does it just bent by puttin some force on it or do a need to take it somewhere? thanks

bolt one side on like it should be, then twist/bend the other side close to fitting. then you may have to unbolt the first side to get both on, then bolt them both down.

well i tried bending it, twisting it, tried everything but no good. seems as if the bar is a bit short and doest line up. im starting to think that the bar might be the problem. gona return it anyways
