urgh, sometimes i think my car is just messing with me....

the accessory belt shredded itself and i was driving with half a belt for god knows how long...i realized there was a problem when the battery light started blinking on my cluster and goes away when i rev the car.

oh well, i had a new one sitting around and just put it in.

after the belt replacement, I started removing the front exhaust manifold to reach the oil filter neck assembly. I need to replace the O ring that seals the oil from the block...cuz my car is dripping oil after i leave it parked overnight. when i just finished unbolting everything, it started raining cats and dogs on my ***....urgh

anyway, the way i left it today.

cleaned up all the gunk from the block. took me like 2 friggin hours to clean the 20 years worth of grease and tar.
took out the oil filter assembly. replacing the o-ring tomorrow to fix that nasty leak and i'm gonna paint some random brackets and stuff just to make it clean.

Simple green and a bristle brush would probably make that engine and engine compartment look like new.

Is the paint holding up? I always thought that it was impossible to paint exhaust pipes because of the extreme temperatures. I once painted my lawn mower's exhaust with some high temp paint and it created quite a smoke show when I started it.

quick update.

got it at the perfect ride height on saturday .....no wheel gap no finger
got new headlights + yellow film on top. if i get sick of the colour i'll just rip it off.

I'll get some proper photos later....finally time to get an alignment + drop the car off at bodyshop to get the fenders shaved.

Why don't I see any ES's this nice around my way, ever...

Good job sir I really like it!

I might buy a 1ES as an emergency car in the next few months so I can start working on my project/daily SC....

Can anybody tell me why is overheating a common problem on most ES ads I see?
