I had to replace my factory HID assembly with a new aftermarket Halogen assembly because of the cost of a new HID ballast and assembly and the original HID assembly was damaged and the HID ballast was ruined in an accident..remarkably, the HID bulb survived just fine.

I havent found a replacement HID assembly and ballast that I can afford so I was thinking about just buying a used HID ballast and installing the ballast and HID bulb in my new Halogen assembly.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Factory wise, no. You can have done what's called a "retrofit." If you search the forums you can find people who do a really good job. Basically they open up the headlight and install top of the line HID projectors and seal it back up. So your ES could have Infiniti FX headlights or Lexus LS460 ones. It's rather expensive though.

Don't put an HID in your Halogen light. Although on the outside they look very similar, but they work very differently when projecting light.
