You cannot "reset" it... its how much there is in the gas tank. How many miles do you get on the "reader" after you fill up?

I believe that the way it works is that it calculates the range based on your cumulative average mpg x amt of fuel in the tank. If your car has been driven a lot of city miles, the average mpg will be low and so the projected range will be low. My wife drives mostly in the city, and when we went on a long trip in her car last week the range displayed only 260 miles when I filled it up. I went almost 400 miles before I had to refill. After driving almost 1000 miles, the last time I filled the car it displayed around 280 mile range, so it was gradually increasing as the average mpg increased.

Hey to reset the average and such, simply disconnect the battery for about a minute and reconnect it. It will redetermine your driving style and MPG.
