Hey guys,

Im a newer lexus owner (got my ES330 last year) and my wonderful car now has about 96,000 miles on it. Still love it, I've had no problems so far.

Now I have noticed a ticking sound under the hood however. Bear in mind I live in extreme cold outside of Detroit, Michigan so it does get subzero and the clicking started during the winter.

Has anyone ever run into this issue?

Hello, I have a 04 es also, I'm north of Detroit. Hard to say what the noise is without hearing it, how loud, is all the time, a simple oil change might work. Can you hear it from inside the car, etc. Might not be inside the motor. Meade Lexus in Utica is good, and Southfield also or find a good shop around you that you can trust to look at it. hope its something simple. I have 80000 miles on mine, very quiet. Let us know what you find out. have a good day.

Might be valve lifter tick. Does it go away when the car is warmed up? Does the frequency of the tick increase with rpms?
