I noticed that the flex pipe area of my exhaust is leaking and is getting louder. Is it possible to cut out the flex pipe and weld a new one in? If so, does anyone know how long the flex pipe is and what the ID and OD are?

I see some universal flex pipes for sale online and would rather take that route than replace the whole y-pipe.

Yes, it is possible. I had a local muffler shop cut out the old flex pipe and welded in a new one for about USD$150. I don't know the ID and OD.

they have universal flex pipe sections different lengths at oreilys autoparts, not sure of diameter of them or yours but im sure you can expand/reduce if its close with an adapter.

i have a 2 gen and the price may be different but i got a complete new y pipe with both flex pieces, flanges, gaskets and all for $125 off ebay and installed it in 20 minutes flat. the pipe sat in my shop for 6 months before i manned up and got under there, fearing the worse. took longer to pull out my jack/tools than it did to actually swap it out.
