What's the fastest you've cruised your ES?

133 mph driving up to san fran from LA on the 5 north...
nothin but long straightaways with no traffic.
wish it had a fifth gear to take me faster!
that is the top speed that I was able to get - it wouldnt go any higher.

I hit 135 on the freeway and it felt like it had more, but there was traffic coming up and I had to slow down. Saying this, I'm sure that I was not actually going 135, the speedometer error increases more and more the faster you go, presenting false results

i hit 141mph with some rpms left to go. I guess the car's aerodynamically speed limited or something, because it just woulndt go anymore and i was on a downhill slope.
BTW, i'll never do that again -- it was a dumb idea in the first place...ES's aren't meant to do that stuff. If you're going to do it anyways, make sure you have tires that can handle it.

hitting a deer at around 130mph could be trouble...
I knew a guy who hit a moose at like 30 mph and it totalled his car. Animals can really jack up your car if you hit them at high enough speeds.
so how fast were you going BigRich?

ITS KIND OF FUNNY HOW ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE PUSHING 130 WHEN 92-96 THEY WERE ELECTRONICALLY SET FOR NO MORE THAN 120MPH PEOPLE NEED NOT TO TELL A LIE UNLESS EACH ONE OF YOU HAVE JET CHIPS WITH AFTER MARKET AIR FLOW SENSORS. TRY AGAIN!!!!!

As i stated in my earlier post, as you reach higher and higher speeds the speedometer error increases more and more. Especially at speeds in triple digits because the car is not built to go that fast. So when the speedometer says 135, the car could actually only be going 120. So instead of coming on here and calling everyone a liar, maybe you should first read the whole thread before you make foolish assumptions

There still cant be a governor on the car though-
When I went 130mph I had my car maxed out and it would not go any faster- there was no governor intervention. I have driven a car with a governor before and it is completely noticeable when the governor kicks in because it will slow you down when you hit the governer-limited speed. There never was any interference in acceleration or any type of hesitation that a governor would produce when I maxed out my car. And I think the fact that a few other people say that they went over 130 indicates that there probably wasn't a governor in the earlier model ES's. I dont mean to argue with you but your information has to be wrong...
