Guys keep the speeding in the track.

Most of you are young and inexperienced and have no real idea of the damage you can cause to yourselves and others because you want to get your kicks. We all push it sometimes but lets not be stupid.

The most important person in your life is YOU. Don't die a bloody pulp in a tangled steel mess. If you don't care about yourself think of your family and the pain it would cause them if your killed in an accident. I'm not going into the financial hardship you and your family would go through if you become paralyzed or get sued for killing some innocent person.

Think about it.

Specter.

Got my ES up to 130.. 93 ES300 with 160,000+ miles on it. Does have some minor performance mods.. intake, full exhaust with dynomax muffler, performance plugs and wires, but not too much.. but it does have 18's so I know that its gonna be off slightly.. but the roads in Tucson are too bad to be doing high speeds.. did get a ticket (well arrested) for 105 in a 55.. got proof of that! lol

I had the petal to the metal and hit 87mph once!

Living in northern california, there are way to many cars, way to many CHP, and too many potholes and horrible roads to be driving too fast. I try to keep it under 75 to save gas and points on my license. Maybe one day when im crusing to LA on I-5 south I can break the throttle open, but driving in rush hour traffic isnt conducive to going 100+ LOL.

but a question for all of ya'll, does it feel like its accelerating really slow for ya'll at full throttle after you pass the 100mph mark? because it does for me

The fastest I've gone is 95 mph. That's usually at night though on the freeway's headed home.

Default It was fun

I ripped a Charger a new one on the express way!!This dude was actually trying he just wasn't a good driver. Many people may read this and not believe it, but I actually kept up with and passed it. It wasn't a straight away though it was mainly nasty lane switching. ES's can out handle those cars, but can't be them in a straight line unless it's on a roll. top speed was reached 140mph. I don't care what anyone says you can't feel the gov. kick in until you reach that speed. The car doesn't slow down. esp with ECT.
BTW it's a 96 ES. NO MODS!!!

140 with no mods??!!!! OK you have officially pushed the envelope button just a little too far. LOL!!! Yes, it's true that I do not have an ES(LS owner), but I like to visit here and read often. The most I have read from an ES, even with mods is in the 130's, and you are perfectly right,, the driver in the charger could not drive well. I know the ES is a fast car, but 140??? Dont think so. LOL!!!!

Cool

Eh, the speedo's aint the most accurate things ever. Besides you've got tire size/wear issues & such.
But AFA unmodifed, no. All the 1mz-fe's are locked @ 137mph. If you can pull to that, it'll fuel cut a 100-200 rpm which would feel like hitting a brick wall.

100 rpm is a big differance in speed in top gear.

It is possible to go slightly above the limiter if you check your speed via a GPS, but like it or not that limiter is going to kick in.

I remember looking into the TTE VMAX Kit (which they no longer sell last time I checked) for the RX300 and also the HKS Speed Limit Defencer, http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=781

Down here in Mexico, you can run your vehicles as fast as you want, so it is easy to test.

I pegged my tach (140) on two occasions - going to Vegas and down to San Diego, it took FOREVER to get there though.
A stock ES can reach 140, but it will take quite a bit of time.

Honestly, I'll never do it again, its too dangerous, and the car seems to not like it, and obviously I was young and DUMB!

It's surreal isn't it. My RX300 is limited to 112, but that did not stop me from taking a fast run down a toll road hill to the tune of 120.9 on a GPS. Felt like I was floating on air at that speed...I may have been.
