My mother's Lexus is a 1992 1/2 (so they said) We know it's still just a 1992! I also had a 1992 and It was maxing out just before 130.

My mom did have the d60 as OEM however; Lexus of Watertown replaced them with the Dunlop SP SPORT 4000 when she came in for new tires. They said these were the new replacement. I seen them on several other Lexi, at the dealership.

I'm not name calling. 1994 Lexus... I'm just stating a fact!

My mom's Lexus topped out at 126, no lie!

I don't mean to offend anyone,

just my 2 cents,

James M.

I agree with PhoenixGoldLex/1994ES300 and a gng of others, When I had my 94es, I hit 125mph on almost every Philly expressway. Now in my '99es ~ I only maxed at 130-131 but had to kill it because cops was closing in ( and got the guy 2 cars behind me..Phhhew). When lexus gave me the '02 ES as a loaner - I topped that at 135mph.

There aer no liers in this game - ever Lex has a weight differential all the way down to the weight of the driver + difference in engine preservation and tire tread.

P.S. - I give all the props to LunaR for hitting for hitting top speeds with his wife...lol

I definately have nothing against you all, but honestly 126mph does sound a bit low for an ES to top out. I would expect at least 130 or so. Anyway, I am positive there is NO LIMITER in our cars so its normal to see varying top speeds I guess. Take it easy guys.

Weight does not have much of an impact on top speed. Aerodynamic drag is the major thing, along with engine condition like you said. Also, weather conditions play a big role.

Hehe, it's kinda funny talking about fuel management in our ES's, and how much we drive. On average, I'd have to say I gas up once every 7-9 days if I use my car just to go to work (18 miles one-way, leisurely drive in rural area), or if I make visits out-of-town or out-of-state, I gas up every 4-5 days. I've been keeping track of my pump visits this year, and this is crazy, I can't believe I've spent more than $1200 so far just on gas! Man, this is definitely not like those days where the average gas price is between $1.10 and $1.20

it's always good to compare gas mileage with others to see how your car's comparing to others. but i only drive like 10 miles to school and my mom drive the car home, changes to her RX, and drives to work. so it isn't driven all that much, but my lex is also nearing 100k. i gotta take a snapshot when that happens. i'm at 98300 right now. i should measure my mpg next time i gas up.

Talking okay, so now this is a fuel economy thread? kool..

my model, the 95 ES is rated at 24mpg hwy, but my car is actually getting about 26mpg. wassup with that? i know i'm not doing that whole calculation think wrong. is the rated 24mpg an average or is it a max?

maybe my car is just pretty special like that.

18mpg??? Damn, that's disgraceful for a 4 door 3.0L V6 sedan no matter how hard you drive it. I drive aggressive as hell. And now since my dad uses the car too (lease on his m5 is up so he's looking for a new ride) I have to fill up every other day!!!
