Help- Dash Panel Removal
Hello,.. I am in need of some assistance with removing the entire dash panel on my '94 Lexus ES300,... I bought a new one which should be arriving any day now to replace my old, cracked, and weather beaten dash panel.... so far i have the ventalation and stereo unit removed. What is my next step? Will removing the panel set off the passenger airbag?.. any help (pictures or diagrams)will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think too many people disassembled their car to the lengths needed to replace the dash padding. My advise would be to take as many pictures as you can as you do the disassembly, and do what seems logical. Going by other cars I have done this to, I would say remove instrument cluster, steering wheel (maybe) glove box assembly, stereo, climate controls, vents, mirror control etc. maybe the A pillar covers, the footwell covers, I'm sure other stuff.
I've removed the passengers airbag on a Camry, and it is a separate piece that bolts to the dash framework. The dash padding will come off after the airbag is unbolted from underneath and removed. I would imagine the Lexus is similar.
When you get your new part, it will make it easier for you to visualize what needs to be removed. Make sure you disconnect the battery when you are doing this. (edit - if you remove the negative terminal from the battery there is no chance the airbag will go off accidentally)
I sent you a PM.

Go here http://manualspace.com/toyota-lexus-...l-training.htm Download the 1993 technical training manual. Your 1994 should be very similar. When downloaded, go to the 'Body' section, page 109, instrument panel removal.
