I did a search on this topic but no one was able to answer the question of where the thermostat is located on an ES 300. Usually the thermostats are located at the end of the upper radiator hoses, but the ES has nothing resembling a thermostat at this location. Has anyone changed their thermostat recently? Is this a difficult DIY?

it's not to bad. it has 3 10mm nuts hold it on. It takes all of 5 min to get it off! Just make sure you don't bend the aluminum hose that is connected to the housing.
Great. Can't wait to tackle this job this weekend. Looks like I'll need to get some things off to gain a decent access to the thermostat housing, like the air cleaner assembly. Planning to replace the radiator from radiators.com. What do you think of an after market radiator vs OEM?
