Default Fuel Injector Cleaner...

I've got 110,000 miles on my 2000ES. Would it be a good idea to use this fuel additive every 5000 miles when I do my oil changes? I generally use 89 octane gas, but once a month a fill up with 93 octane.

I have 445,000 kilometers on my ES and I use a fuel injector cleaner maybe 3 times a year, just as a preventative measure. Never hurts. Some ppl I know use it with every fill-up but, IMO, that's a bit of overkill.

From what I understand, Chevron's Techron is one of (if not the) best engine/FI cleaners out there. Instead of buying the additive, i fill up with Chevron gas ~once a month as it's in their gas. BTW - no affiliation ...

hmmm. some food for thought with this thread.

I did a seafoam treatment last year, but noticed no difference. I'm sure it did its job - even if it was a nominal amount of gunk out of the engine bay, it'd be worth it!

My old man used to use Lucas stuff in an old family van, but i never knew if it is 'worth it' i guess i'll try some of that.

Redline's fuel system cleaner is my personal favorite. Pep Boys carries it.
