1998 Lexus ES300 fluid leaks
Not having a nice evening. Had my check engine light come and then cleared it by way of removing the negative battery cable and restarted the car and check engine light gone. But while I had the hood open I found a puddle of transmission fluid on top of the tranny case below the air filter. So I checked under the car and noticed the sub frame near the driver axle is wet with tranmission fluid along with the pan. I checked the tranny dipstick while the car was hot and running and it shows the fluid level way above the hot notch on the dipstick. I am NOT having any shifting problems, runs smooth with a lot of power. If it wasn't for me looking under the hood, I wouldnt have known Im leaking tranny fluid. So while I was under there I decided to look at the passenger side sub frame near the passenger axle and noticed that was wet too, so I then touched the oil pan and noticed my fingers were wet with oil, so now I also have an oil leak too. I checked the oil dipstick and it reads at the full mark on the dipstick. My car is a 1998 ES300 with 145,000 miles and runs like a champ, still running strong and no over heating issues. My question to the experts on here is, what would be causing two leaks to occur at the same time? And what would be causing the issues? Im hoping its not something major and wondering if I should take it the dealer or have an independent technician take a look at it. Tomorrow morning I'm going to jack the car up and really look under there and check all the bolts to both pans and make sure none are loose. Any help from the experts on here would be greatly appreciated. Thank a bunch.
