Okay..finally got word from my mechanic. He confirmed that it was indeed my starter. With all my years of driving, I've never had a starter just completely go without any indication. On my old Camry, it used to choke before start up and a little banging on the starter would turn it over.
Anyhow, I'm just glad this ordeal is over. I want thank you all for your help and suggestions!
Sincerely,
Dino

My 2002 ES300 Won't Start
I am baffled as to what could be wrong with my 2002 Lexus ES300. I have never had a problem with it, always started without a hitch, but a few days ago, I stopped to make a quick purchase and when I tried starting my car, the engine would not turn over. I initally thought my battery was dead although less than 3 months old, but immediately took notice that my lights were brighter than ever, my CD player worked fine, my windows had no problems and my dash display was illuminated.
After a couple hours my spouse tried shaking the engine and it started right up, but once home it was back to square one. Since a few of you experienced this problem early on, was wondering if you found a solution and if you care to share?
Thanks for your feedback...

Bad starter
This is most likely a bad starter. This happened to me a couple of months ago on my 2002 ES300. Try tapping on the starter with a wooden broom handle and see if it starts.

Won't Start - 2002 ES300
You were right on the money it was the starter and ouch, the blood suckers got me for nearly $600. Wished I had gotten your response before I took it to the shop, my shade tree would have put it on for about $100 and the actual cost was roughly $140. I'm just happy, I'm on the road again, but I have another hopefully small problem, my automatic headlight leveling system light is on, if you know what I'm referring to, its the cherry shape light with beams in the little triangle shape dash display.
Does anyone know how to make it go out?
