Cylinder misfiring questions
2 days ago, while I was at a stoplight, the car felt like it was knocking and pinging. I just thought it was a temporary thing due to some bad guess, and I continued to drive. When I got to the freeway, I noticed that the CEL came on. I drove to my destination about 5 miles away and let it sit for an hour. On the way home, I noticed that the TRAC OFF light was also on, and the CEL was now blinking. I don't recall if it was blinking earlier. The car was in "limp home mode" and was rev'ing at 3500 rpm.
I haven't driven the car since. I borrowed a friend's OBDII scanner and read the codes:
P0305 - cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0300(pd) - random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0304(pd) - misfire detected
P0305(pd) - misfire detected
I've read other posts, and many mention spark plugs, oxygen sensors or the MAF. There were no related codes here ...
Is there anything I should check first before bringing the car to the shop?

I've had that same exact problem: Check engine light and TRAC off with cylinders 2-4-6 misfiring. Also had a rough idle and reduced power.
I believe it was a bad ignition coil pack.

check o2 sensors( 1-header pipe, 2-rear of manifold), coils, injectors, and plugs
go to www.autozone.com and you can find a diagram there
