A couple of days ago I noticed that my 94 Lexus ES300 temperature gauge was showing the car running hot. I pulled into a shopping center parking lot and checked the coolant level. I found coolant still in the overflow tank, but little or none in the radiator.

After purchasing a couple of gallons of coolant and pouring it directly into the radiator with the engine running I began to see some leakage under the car. When I turned the car off the coolant leaked out quickly.

It seems to be leaking under the pulleys and belts. After seeing this I assume that the likely problem is that the water pump has worn out. I am planning to take it to a garage tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone could think of any thing other than the water pump that might cause coolant to leak out below the pulleys and belts.

I just changed out my water pump on the SC and I went ahead and changed out the thermostat and the gasket. The old gasket was warn and appeared to be leaking from there too. You may also want to replace the hoses if their cracked

Nope, just the pump. This is why you NEED to do regular maintmmence and not slack. Do the Timing belt, cam/crank seals. and tensioner when you have the water pump done.
