Default Michelin tire question

Driving a 1992 es 300 with 205/65R/15 tires on it. Has anyone installed Michelin Primacy MXV4 94V or 94H tires on their es lexus. What's the driving difference between the primacy 94V and the 94H tires? Thanks if anyone can help.

They're just speed ratings for both tires. H is rated at 130 and V is at 149. However, V-rated tires is recommended for the ES300 models.

H rate tires usually have softer sidewall than V rate tires. You probably won't feel much different except during hard cornering.

I have the primacy mxv4 94V's in 215/65r16 form on my 2003 ES and theyre fantastic...they didnt cost a fortune and they have a very smooth and quiet ride, and they offer great handling and traction in all weather conditions...theyre even good in the snow too.
I got mine off tirerack.com for about 120 each shipped.

Default Michelin Primacy MXV4 - Best Tire Choice

After researching the "best tire issue" to death, I put them on both cars: wife's 2002 ES300 and my 2009 3.5L V6 Camry. Although only H rated, they provide MUCH better handling, ride, and stopping on ice or snow than the OEM V rated Bridgestone Turanza's that wore out in 8500 miles on the Camry. There really is no enforcement of UTQG tread wear or speed rating standards ...... so the best thing to go on is reviews from people with similar cars.

November 2009 issue of consumer reports magazine rated Primacy as the best all around tire ....... it came out right after putting a set on the Lexus. Also, Primacy gets highest rating of any tire in owners' reviews at tirerack.com.

Both sets purchased at NTB - Price paid for four including lifetime balance, free tire rotations, 6 year road hazard warranty, and sales tax $650 for 205/55/17 on the Camry during a special promotion $650; $605 for 205/60/16's on the ES with a Costco Price match.

I have the primacy MXV4 on my Legend and love them. They have plenty of grip in the rain and dry. I would not get the Energy S8 Michelins though. We have them on our ES300 right now and they don't grip as well as the primacys on my Legend. The ride quality is excellent on the Primacy and the Energy MXV4.

Just put new Primacys on our 99 Solara. They are a great tire. Went with the H rated. Took advantage of the $70 rebate. These replaced the MXV4+ that were on there when I bought it.

Just bought today 4 Primacy MXV4 94H tires for my 2004 ES330. Got them at Discount Tire for $681.65 out the door, and a $70 mail in rebate, so actual price is $611.65. (Registered rebate on-line, so didn't even have to invest a postage stamp. Rebate expires March 6, 2010.) Price includes lifetime spin balancing, rotation, and repairs. I did massive research; Consumer Reports and Tirerack.com, both rated these tires #1. I could not locate any of these tires rated 94V though, not even on the Michelin website, so I am thinking they don't make the Primacy with a V speed rating. I would have bought them if they did. I can't wait to try these new tires out. I drove the car home, but no further... just a couple miles.
