Default Wood steering wheel Inserts.

Any one have any experience with the wood steering wheel caps that this Company sells on Ebay. They sell them for specific years and models, and are supposed to just snap onto your leather steering wheel?

I was thinking of ordering a set for my 2001 ES300, but was wondering if any one has seen them, or has actually bought those things?

Never seen one on an actual car before, but keep in mind, the one in the link you posted is for the RX300 not the ES300. I checked and they do have one for the ES, just doesn't look like the same color as that one.

I purchased one before for my OEM 98 ES300 steering wheel, but it was a faux wood one that covered the front side of the steering wheel and was made by Grant. Its held on by 3M double sided tape. I liked it alot and now am thinking of getting one for my 01 ES300 wood grain and leather steering wheel, but with the faux wood and leather.

^^ That looks horrible.

Something Pep Boys would sell on their clearance rack.

LOL, well it did its job and gave me that wood look until I got my 01 wood and leather steering wheel. A lot better than that faux cover.

I think, I'll do the same as you, and eventually get an original (used) wood steering wheel.

How much did you pay for yours, and where did you get it?

Thanks

Phil

I believe I paid $45.00 dollars for it. I'll admit it is tacky, but I wanted that wood look until I was able to find an 01 wood and leather steering wheel.

Ohhh, thought you meant the faux wood ring, lol. The steering wheel I bought off ebay and came with an airbag, paid $260.00 dollars, but you can buy just the steering wheel with no airbag for about $160.00 dollars, that's abouth the average cost on ebay. If you have a 97-99 ES300, no need to buy a steering wheel with an airbag, airbag connectors are completely different, you'll have to use your airbag from your current steering wheel.
