Dude to keep the engine running at maximum performance and efficiency, use premium.

Uhhh, i don't think using any fuel under 92 octane is a great idea for any lexus car. I try to get shell premium or sunoco ultra 94 when i can.

Without getting flamed here, I just think that if you can't afford $2 extra every couple of weeks for gas then you probably shouldn't be driving an expensive car.

I use Sunoco Ultra 94.
It's $.01 cheaper than their 93 octane premium on Wednesdays.
Good deal in my book.
Plus, Sunoco puts lots of detergents in their gas

Do not use any form of cheap gas. Thortons and junk like that has so many pieces of things in their gas that it will clog up your engine. Use only mobile or shell. It is better.

Yea, and a lot of the mom & pop stations have been know/rumored to water down their gas.

Always Chevron or Shell 93 octane. Chevron has Techron in it, which I try to use as much as possible.

Now I use BP93, it's not just $2 every couple of weeks, I fill up every 5 or 6 days, maybe I just drive a lot, but it is $2 more every fill up

Most people who are devoted to one brand or another because "it's better" don't have any hard facts to back up why it's better. It's usually decided by either marketing (e.g. the flashy Techron name) or word of mouth (e.g. "my uncle Joe only uses Shell and says it's the best").

There was a long thread about gasoline quality, and the concensus was that any name brand except Arco will do. The gasoline all come from the same local refineries, and the additive packages from each respective company all do what they're supposed to.

The only reason Lexus recommends premium in the ES models is to boast lower emissions than a lower grade of gas. Of course, I use 93, though.
