Please let me know what you find out about this.. I have the same problem on my 94 ES300..
I just purchased this car a month ago with 95K miles on it... I figured a few things would need
attention... I just went on a long trip with 4 adults in the car and noticed the shocks seemed to be getting close to bottom out and thump just to right of rear passenger going over small bumps,, espesially at low speeds,,, I figured the struts and mounts need to be replaced.

I'm not extremely familiar with ES300 though I did own a 97 ES300 for 2 years. Since ES300 is similiar with Toyota Camry, perhaps you could use the shocks for Camry on ES300. Contact Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota regarding this matter. He would give you a straight answer.
