Default 2 Quick Questions...

whats a reasonable price for a backyard mechanic to charge for timing belt and water pump replacement? (he works at local mechanic shop and is a family friend)

also, my wifey broker her alarm control... i think i have all the pieces but i may be mistaken because when i put it all together it still doesnt do anything... can anyone tell me exactly whats inside the control and how its pieced together to make sure im putting it back correctly? some pictures would be great!

I just paid $400 for a tow (75 miles), new water pump, thermostat, timing belt, alternator belt and power steering belt. This was from my local mechanic. Compared to everyone else that I priced, this was about $300 less. I hope this helps.
