Default IS300 wheels on an ES?

Hey Everyone,

I am looking at a set of the 5 spoke IS300 rims and need to know before I purchase them if they are a direct fit for my 1993 ES300. I was looking to get new rims anyway as the stock 15" are getting harder to find. The IS rims are 17" and already have the proper tire specs to keep everything in ratio. Like I said, all I need to know is if the IS wheels will be a direct bolt on to my ES. If not, what is typically needed?

Thanks in Advance!

Starting with post #5 in the ES Wheels thread you'll see them for yourself.
(Perhaps we should sticky that one just so people can reference it...)

Thanks Slooooooow and everyone else. I know that I had seen that thread before, but I was limited on time when I posted the thread. I can't wait to see how they will look on my ES.

They certainly do and they look pretty damn sweet on the car if you ask me. Here's a pic of my old ride.

those do look good but I am not a huge fan of the chrome rims. Also the set I am buying is local, $100 less and the tires are brand new. If it wasn't for those 3 things I would probably be PMing the seller right now.

IIRC if the tires were fitted for an IS300 you are going to need a smaller tire size to prevent rubbing? I'm not 100% sure on this one if someone could chime in.

no, if I recall correctly the stock size for the IS300 tires are 215/45/17. You can put these tires on but your odom will be off by 1% or 2%.

You would need to get 215/50/17 to make the odom close to 0%.

The pictures of my ride above has the 215/50/17 tires.

I am hoping that the ODO is off by 1-2%. I repaired my cluster lighting and the speedo now reads 1-2% slower than I am actually going. Per 1010tires.com, the 215/45 R17 will show 1-2% faster than I am actually going. This should equal out to 0% difference. Thanks for the info on the proper sizes though.
