99 ES300 jerky shifting, SeaFoamed
I just got done SeaFoaming my ES today (the correct way). It seems like since I've done it, the car is a little "jumpy" when shifting from 'Park' into 'Reverse' or 'Drive'. Could SeaFoam have done this?
I've read a few posts stating that jerking like this could mean the transmission mount needs to be replaced- is this something I could do myself?
Or, maybe I need my transmission fluid drained?
Ideas?
Thanks-

What's the idle speed?
I doubt that seafoam has anything to do with it.
The skill level to replace the mounts is not very high, To check the mounts you will need someone to help you. Open the hood and stand off to the side of the car, DO NOT STAND IN FRONT. Have someone start the car, and shift from drive to reverse, while giving it some throttle (while holding the brakes down). See how far the engine rocks.

shift from D to R, while giving throttle? is it even safe? is idle rpm not enough to tell?

If you do not feel comfortable, by all means do not do it. Take the car to a garage and have them do if for you. If the brakes are functioning decently, they are more than enough to hold the car in place. Of course DO NOT STAND IN FRONT of the car! Just in case, Have the car in a spot where it can move a few feet without hitting something. Like anthing else, some caution and common sense must be exercised.
