1992 Auto, was running good before I touched it! 200,000 miles on the clock and starts and rides smoother than my 06 Grand Prix. The Lexus is actually a $400 beater that I'm going to be my budget car if she'll stop smoking. I've got about $100 in parts into her, rear brakes and rotors, valve cover gaskets...quart of oil a day.... I'm going to have her buffed out by a friend of mine to see if I can get rid some of the clearcoat cancer on the roof and hood along with the tree sap in the hood. I've been watching Craigslist like a hawk for some decent 17's with tires at a price I want to spend, then probably going to go with Teins and some decent struts. Yes, I'm cheap...I know this , but I also know with these mods and whole lotta time I'll get my money back if the car doesn't blow up on me first.

I didn't take a pic of the actual breakedness, I was at work and grabbed a co-workers camera phone. I tried to get pictures of her too, but she wouldn't let me send them to myself.

I broke it when I was changing the valve cover gaskets. I had lost the metal gasket and tried making one out of Gasket Paper that I had left over since no one seems to carry the throttle body gasket for this car.

Pissed off because the car still smokes...alot, but now when I'm stopped at a light it smokes and shakes.....Like a drunken fat guy at a Karaoke bar that knows he can't sing or dance...(Trust me, I know, I'm that guy).

Any idea where the car might be smoking from before I start ripping her apart?
Any idea about what that piece is connected to the intake manifold that I broke?
Any idea why no one carries throttle body gaskets for this car?
Any idea why my babies momma keeps getting mad everytime I sink money into my cars?
Any idea if I'll ever stop playing with these junks?
Any idea why I'm still typing and if you guys even made it this far to read all of these questions?

The rims are actually 18's. They're Xtatik Mass in Hyperlack, if you're interested. They aren't too pricey either

Have you tried just replacing the gasket to the IACV and while it's off just cleaning the carbon out? That's worked for a lot of members here and it seems like something to try before blowing that much cash. Or do you know for sure you toasted it?

The valve covers took me about a week off and on, between frozen bolts, cheap broken ratchets and all the rain we've had on my days off. Somewhere in that week I lost the gasket. I made one out of gasket paper but I made it round so it didn't get up to the bolts. Then I tightened the bolts a little too hard ant now it's broke, the actual metal broke under the top bolt. I might show my hillbilliness and try to caulk it up as a temporary fix. I'm alot more worried about the smoking from under the hood right now.

wow, you cracked the metal that makes up the IACV housing .. and didn't even messed up the bolt and/or the intake manifold thread? that's amazing! haha you normally shouldn't be able to break it with normal strength applied to the correct wrench, but you did. good luck budy, i would just one off a junkyard engine and clean it before installing [with a new dealer gasket], since the IACV is so important. the caulk could work out too but so could jb weld or something. good luck..
