Default Which do you prefer?

I have a Lexus ES 300. It has a black plastic grille on the bottom of the front bumper. Duplicolor makes a chrome spray. If I did a neat clean job, I think it would look good but which do you guys prefer?

It would something along these lines, I just did a quick photoshop:

A: W/ Chrome:

B: NO Chrome:

Hmm, a chrome spray probably won't come out looking too chromey anyway. I think for that model alone, black, but check out my ES it has a chrome lower grill but the proper mesh. Looks good on mine but everyone for their own.

the chrome grille makes it look bottom heavy.
The first thing that came to my mind was it look like the ES got punched and now has a fat lip.

The second thougtht was that the ES looks like a kid with a severe underbite.

Leave it black. If anything, find a better upper grille.

Thanks for all of your opinions. I am still undecided.

I am starting to like the second chrome one a little better, but I am not sure yet.

My ES is in better condition than that one, but thanks for the comment on it.

make the top grill black... or just leave it alone. it seems like u need to repaint your front bumper anyways by the looks of that scrape... why not color match instead?

Leave it stock black. There are a lot of rock chips etc and by the time you wash the car for some time, it will start to rub off.

As far as the design goes, I don't think the lower grille was intended to be that noticeable. So, I'd keep it black if it was mine. But if you are intent on chroming it, I would go for the second idea of chroming every other horizontal section which matches the upper grille better.

Thumbs up

The 4th gens' lines that tend to slope in as you move downward from the shoulder lines, plus the OEM major sunken wheel/tire look, combine to really give that gen the "fat kid on skinny legs" look.

I kinda like how the chromed lower grill broadens a lower aesthetic feature to combat that problem.
