hello - i am posting here to see if anyone has had a similar problem. it's really not a "problem" that i'm aware of - just a problematic "noise".

the car is a 94 and has about 175k on it. for many years now, especially when the weather is cooler, it will creak and groan as the body rolls around - just doing anything like backing out of a driveway or if the road kind of bounces the car around a bit.

i suspect "bushings" may need to be replaced but i wanted to check w/ others first, and see if they've had similar problems. (and i am interested to hear how expensive a fix this could be, or if it's a safety issue in any way)

and i forgot to mention, i just had all 4 struts (and strut mounts) replaced on the car - and that didn't take the noise away...

I've read on here about "spring perches" or something like that. I believe it's the rubber "saddle" that the springs rest against, on both upper and lower ends. I would think they would replace them when they had the struts out, but maybe not.

Anyhow, my '96 was making all sorts of noise when the weather started to turn cooler. I put her up in the air and took all the wheels off. I was planning on doing brakes, but they looked great, so I had some extra time on my hands. I grabbed the can of silicone spray with a long nozzle on the can (think WD-40 type red straw thingy). I saturated all the rubber parts I could find and I haven't heard the noises since. I'm not sure, but I think another possible culprit might be the joint behind the front tires a bit. Not sure what it is called, but it looks like a dog-bone motor mount end, and appears to swivel and flex at the same time. They got blasted pretty well too.

If you grab a can of silicone spray and soak both ends of all four springs, you should take care of it for a while. Might last a day, might last a year, might last longer. Have fun!

u need swar bar bushing, control arm bushing, etc

very common. not a big deal. lubing them up just gets the noise to go away, they are still out of spec.

i've noticed that when my tires are fully inflated i get less of the "creaky" sound...
