95 ES300 hunting around 1000rpm in fwd
In 1-2-D, engine hesitates on start and hunts at 900rpm up to 1200 and back to 700. Stall test goes to 1500rpm and hunts back to 1000rpm. No problem in R, stall test 2200rpm. Checked TPS, MAF, fuel, airleaks all ok. Cannot understand why hunting only appears in fwd, not rev. Any clues?

hunting caused by airleak
Found problem after checking all hoses more carefully. The inlet air duct between MAF and throttle body had a 1inch split in the inner fold of the bellows on the underside, so that it was hardly visible. Torque reaction in fwd opened it up, in reverse and idle closed it. Performance is now perfect.
