Hi all, I'm in need of info.

I have drained and replaced transaxle fluid few months back, and I now want to do the differential. I drained the diff and about 3qts atf came out, I tried to fill the differential through the fill hole until atf drips out and i can put about 1qt of atf only. Is that sound strange? thanks in advance.

you're changing the fluid seperately? hmm, and both take import ATF?

On FWD cars, it's usually the case that the Transmission Fluid is shared between the Differential Unit and the Planetary Gearset and Torque Converter.

[I capitalize things intentionally to avoid confusion between regualr words like 'case' and the main parts on the car]

I have a 94 also. The transmission and differential are connected. When you drain the transmission fluid some stays in the differential. The differential has a separate drain plug. To replace the fluid you add it through the trans dipstick. I changed mine by disconnecting the transcooler hose on the left of the radiator and hooking a longer plastic hose with a coupling to it. Start the car for about 10 seconds and it will pump out one quart of trans fluid. Add one quart back. Keep doing this until the fluid is cherry red and you have exchanged all fluid. It works best with two people and takes about 30 minutes. The obvious benefit is all of your trans fluid is new, not just what you can drain out.

So you did not fill through the filler plug for differential? if you filled it through dipstick tube only, did you check to see if fluid was coming out of filler plug?
