Default Does The 6-CD Changer Recognize MP3? (99 ES)

Pretty Straight forward question. Did a search and couldn't seem to find anything. I know I could just make an MP3 CD and try it, but I don't want to waist the CD-R.

I have a 1999 ES with the standard Lexus Premium Sound, I believe its the Pioneer system, with the 6-CD changer.

Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Hang on a second. My 92 Playes them fine. Try it and see. Not sure if it makes a difference but my burned CD's are all .wma, but like I said they play flawless. Burned CD's require more laser power, so make sure your lens is clean.

Oh yeah most cars can play burned CD's with no problem, MP3 format though requires an MP3 compatible player because its a specialized format.

burned wma cds are fine. mp3 format will not be read, unless you have an mp3 read program of some sorts.

His question was about MP3 CD's. Your 1992 ES300 will not play MP3 CD's.

I was in a rush and didnt read it completely. I was under the impression we were talking about burned CDs in general. Wasnt trying to cause a verbal onslaught.

You don't know what you're talking about. The stock 1994 ES300 stereo is not capable of decoding MP3's, and that's a fact.

My 2000 ES plays burned CD-R cd's with MP3 files. It's not a persay "MP3 disc", you know the ones where you can burn only MP3's and have like 80 songs, but a regular burned CD it plays just fine.
