Esyay, I'm originally from Ayonnebay, now living down the Jersey shore. I'm getting my timing belt and water pump replaced in Toms River on Thursday for $498 (at the same place that fixed my exhaust system).

Is the Harrisburg price from a Lexus dealer or a local shop ?

Just wanted to add that I did get a better Lexus dealer estimate (original was for $1100 from a Monmouth County NJ Lexus dealer) a Bridgewater Lexus dealer. Bridgewater wanted $775 +tax for same job.

In all fairness, the $1100 water pump may have been gold plated. I never did ask them about the price difference, but they may very be able to justify that price. I did notice all the techs there were wearing tuxedos, and a lead crystal chandelier hung above each work bay.

I finally got the water pump and timing belt done (at the same shop that did my exhaust) for $498. (They had already repaires the exhaust for $300.)

So Lexus wanted $4199 for the exhaust repair, and another $1142 for the waterpump/timing belt.

Lexus total for both repairs= $5,341

Local shop total for same two repairs = $798

So, not only did this Lexus dealership scare me away from Lexus service, they helped me by forcing me to look elsewhere, and I found an excellent honest local facility much closer to home. (oh, and did I mention that I saved $4,543 ? )

On downside, I got no Starbucks coffee, no carwash, and no pack of mints waiting for me on the console afterwards.
