If you can post a wiring diagram of the aftermarket head unit or just give us the model and we will find it for you. Also if you already know a little about stereos all you need to do is hook up the remote wire to the antenna wire for the stock setup and the wiring diagram has been posted here countless times just use the search tool.

Mine continually went up and woulddnt stop. I unhooked the harness while it was up so it just stays there all the time. The only way I could make mine work was with a momentary button to raise it (and it goes down when the key turns off).

Any idears??

the hu is an eclipse cd3000. i connected the light green+red stripe wire to the blue wire on the cd3000 which is labeled for antenna relay and the motor for the antenna doesn't go up/down when i do. i tried turning the radio on/off and changing from disc to fm, but still no luck

It goes up when the wire is energized. When it gets to the top the gears just grind until you stop powering the wire. It goes down when you turn the ignition off.

Yea the switch you have is prob the only way to fix it. It prob is becase the stock hu only energizes the wire when it wants it to go up and uses a separate signal to make it go down. What I would do is acess the motor for the antenna and test how you can make it go down.

I'll just leave it up for now, lol. A timed relay would solve the deal though.
