Hey guys my 1996 Lexus ES 300, came with leather, heated seats, custom 2001 woodgrain steering wheel conversion, chrome oem rims, lexus door side marker, 64 LEDS cluster lighting, Phillips Uliton HIDS, (but no sunroof which I didnt think was possible) I want to get a original lexus sunroof installed, my buddy of mine works at a salvage yard and can get me the sunroof with the roof and all the switches and modules I need to get it working, but I dont know who would actually install this on my car. I live in Southern New Jerey and would like to know if anyone knows who can install this sunroof for me and do a good job installing it?

A body shop would have to do a roof clip. The way they are built I believe it would have to be a full clip too. That means that you would have to cut off the donor roof at the window posts and measure and cut your roof off at the same point.

Unless they could just a square out of the roof, but I dont think you could ever weld in a patch that big without deflecting the roof panel beyond bondo capabilities.

The cost of welding a new top in would far exceed the cost of selling your car & buying whatever you like loaded with what you want in the equivilant price range.

By a long shot. By the time the paint is blended you would basically repaint the entire car. Id say somewhere around 2500-3000 at the LEAST to chop the tops.
