welp, I ended up getting the B&G Suspensions from PeformanceCenter.com. If I saw the Intrax b4 I may have gotten those since the back seems to be low already. But I'm sure .1" won't hurt too bad. I'll post pics whenever I get them on.

Do any of you guys use those strut bars that are about $20 on ebay? Do they work the same?

Answering that question fairly would require quite a bit of side-by-side testing, which I don't believe has been done to-date. Here's a decent example of what would be required; in that example there was a nicely done comparison of rear sway bars.

The folks who've purchased the "$20 Ebay bars" will tell you theirs is just as good as the more expensive ones, although they've never directly tested/compared them.

The folks who've purchased the more expensive/name brand bars will tell you that you get what you pay for and that theirs is of higher quality and stiffness. Again, that remains to be proven.

At this point, the best answer is - it's a crap shoot. Roll the dice and buy what you have confidence in.

Default coilovers to tokico+eibach

ok so ive gone the ksport route with full coilovers. for looks nothing can beat having full height adjustments. but in colorado in icey conditions the suspension even on its softest setting is still to stiff for winter conditions.

i have blown both rear fluid filled shocks because of potholes.. so i just bought a full set of tokico struts, eibach lowering springs, and also full strut mounts all the way around.
i'll let you know what i think of it. and if anyone wants the ksports make me an offer. i just might give you the best deal. also for replacement shocks for the blown ksports they are $125 each(as of last sept.).

That makes me feel less self-resentment for going ahead with the struts+springs purchase in lieu of the coilovers.

I do wish I hadn't just spent a fortune on wheels, tires and suspension, because I might just have made an offer on those Ksports, just to try them out.

Tired of seeing things like this?

This list is provided to alleviate some of the frustration that 2nd generation owners experience when attempting to locate parts to upgrade/update their suspension. The ES is the Lexus aftermarket stepchild anyway, and the 2nd generation parts are harder to find than the newer generation ESs. As you find things, please post up and I'll update the listing above.

Enjoy and good luck!
im sorry new at this now those all camry sus. work with 2nd gen?

No worries and welcome.
Yes. The 2nd generation ESs and the Camrys for those same years, 92 through 96, are essentially the same cars with interchangeable parts.

So I decided to go with a B&G springs a month ago. It's been that long and still no springs. Every week they keep telling me a new ship date and again a new ship date. Anyone know where I can at least get my springs within 2 weeks without having to pay a ridiculous amount for shipping?

Question

I've not had any better luck with my Whiteline springs (via the RaptorRacing group buy over on ToyotaNation.com). Our generation is dated enough that few places keep parts on-hand. I know my STB and RSB were on-hand, but the springs had to be shipped over from Whiteline in Australia. Order placed March 9. Coming up on two months here so I completely empathize...

Options for me:
  1. Continue waiting
  2. Cancel springs order and receive only the in-stock items: Whiteline RSB and STB
  3. Determine which Whiteline competitor springs offer as much drop as the Whitelines (drop 1.5" f&r)
  4. I see from our list above that only the "Sprint" springs (1.8" F&R) and the Intrax (1.6 F & 1.5 R) offer as much drop. I'm a bit concerned about the number of posts complaining about the Intrax springs sagging.

To anyone reading this who has, or had, a 2nd gen ES with suspension mods: what did you get, where did you go to get it and how long was your wait?
