I've raced the same car before in my 97 ES and it was pretty much a tie i was ahead by half a car length the whole time and he ended up pulling back because of oncoming traffic but i would say that you can do it

Doesnt matter how much a car is worth. Cars are getting faster every year and es300's are not meant to be raced anyways.....

A Tc stock won't beat a stock ES300,but a I have seen a turbo Tc due 11 seconds in th 1/4mile...
I killed a slightly modded Civic Si in my ES300 at the track and a few other cars.

You guys (the ones that think the ES will win with no doubt) are on some good stuff......If a tC can out beat a 2006 IS250, I will beat a 2000 ES300. A LOT of people think tC's are cheap and slow...well if you haven't driving one and I don't mean TEST driven one then don't down talk a tC. I driven a 1997 ES300 for two weeks and it doesn't compare to my tC. Plus why are you racing your family car? If you want to race get something sporty like an IS350 ...or a tC . You guys are coming out with these ridiculous so call "solutions" to out beat a tC, see you guys already know that he has no chance with his ES300. Ok then if you guys want to cheat then the tC driver should have 1/4 of the tank full, and no spare.

......but back to the dilemma at hand here; his car is a 220hp V6 weighing in at just over 3400lbs, the TC has a little over 160hp and weighs almost 3000lbs. i shouldn't have even been doing this myself but i have been "accelerating very fast" against several manual scion TC's and haven't lost once yet. we are usually neck and neck up untill about 85-90 and then they start to fall back (VVT-i does help out a little V6 in the high end ) , i just laugh of course because i'm just having a good time and TC owners are always so serious and get pissed very easily. (i miss my SS camaro, would've ripped him to shreds)
anyway, back to your statement about 1/4 times, the TC is without a doubt a high 15 to low 16 second car. a 15.1 is usually what an old integra Type R will run or an automatic 99-04 GT mustang (i've seen most of them run high 14's usually, but every car has a bad day). i've been in a TC and trust me.....those things are no where near being as fast as those.
