Default Squeaky Steering column noise 2003 ES 300

Does Anyone know if the is a lubrication point in the steering wheel column. I have a squeaking noise coming out when you turn the wheel. You can feel it in the gas pedal when it squeaks.

Welcome to CL!

Check the level of your power steering fluid and see if it is within spec. If the level is below the minimum, top off the fluid with whatever the type is called for in your owner's manual. If the problem has nothing to do with the power steering fluid level, then you may have to check the dust boot under the steering column and see if it needs lubrication.

What kind of lube should I use for the boot for the steering wheel as I have the same issue.

It looks like according to the thread link below, you can do it yourself with a couple shots of WD-40 at the rubber gasket located just above the brake pedal that connects to the steering column:

Default It worked

I just went out and sprayed wd-40 at the boot down by the brake pedal and then turned the wheel. All the Squeaking went away. Thank you so much for the info. The shop said they might charge $40.00 to do this so thanks again.

Ya the only problem with that after talking to my lexus mechanic is that makes it worse down the road because WD-40 dries out rubber and will make it crack. He said to use Teflon spray, I did and no more squeak
