Nak vs. standard stereo

Nak vs Lexus Premium Sound
In certain models I have noticed little or no difference (my wife works for Lexus, so I pretty much have played with just about every combination of vehicles and soundsystems Lexus offers). In my GS I got the Nak, because it was top of the line at the time. Based on some previous discussions though, people have experienced some problems with the Nak, hence the change to Mark Levinson. In the RX for example I think the LPS is just fine - guys like Percy, Woody and Mean Gene might argue with you but those guys are extreme audiophiles (I mean that in a good way guys). So I guess what I am trying to say is there is a difference if you think you can hear a difference. Dollar for dollar though you are probably much better off going aftermarket but make sure you are comfortable and confident in your installer - don't just drop off your car at Circuit City and expect to get a "true" custom installation- what you save on the componenets you'll pay for in service - but you'll have what you want.

I think my Nak is way better than stock
I got the option to install Nak in my 98 ES, and a couple of times I listen to the loaner stero and felt my Nak is so much better on both on Bass and Treble.. and I listen to my friend's 2000 BMW 528's stero when I was ready to get the 01's 5'er and that stero sounded so bad that I almost decided to just drive my Lexus, However after spending $1200 factory option on an upgraded stereo for my BMW, I still think my ES300's Nak sounded better.
Just my two cents..
