Exclamation Quick run through on Trans change 99 ES300?

Hey guys I keep hearing that there is 2 allen bolts to drain the trans fluid. Is this true, where are they located? Also does anyone know what size allen they are? Thanks in advanced!

I can't be positive as I don't have photos of beneath an ES300, but my 99 RX300 has this, tranny pan bolt on the right and the front differential on the left, both use ATF, and both are filled through the dipstick, even though drained in two different locations.

A 10mm Hex bit socket works best with a ratchet or torque wrench.

A 10mm Allen L wrench with a pipe also works.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if there are two drain plugs or just one on a ES300?

It should be just one drain plug for the tranny fluid. Click on the following link which explains the tranny fluid changing procedure for a '02+ ES (should relatively be the same on a '99 ES):

Just remember that the tranny fluid drain plug is on the driver side, NOT the passenger side.

I was looking through the Manual that came with the car and it says that a pan drain takes 5.1 L to refill can anyone verify this? I have a 99 ES.

3.1 L (3.3 qt) on a drain and fill of ATF... Meaning you'll need four quarts.
