Default Dies when it rains - guaranteed

So my car dies when it rains hard. It goes through a few phases but today I was able to get it back to my garage before it kicked the bucket. First the power steering flickers on and off then is fine and makes you think the car is normal again and just had a minor hiccup. Then the battery light comes on when you're at a stop. Then the rpm's divebomb to 1 and we have the funeral.

This time was different. When I knew I had to come to a stop I'd put the car in neutral and keep the rpm's up high to keep it running and I was able to make it home.

Could this be the result of moisture or condensation getting inside the distributor? Ive driven in rain before without a problem, but when it pours and wipers are on high, I have to start making funeral arrangements and call the hearse with the wench and flashing lights to come pick me up.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated seeing as how its supposed to be raining here for the next sraight week.

In an extremely rare occurance. I'm not bothering to read the post, nor lookup what car you have.
You have a 3vz-fe and the distributor cap is cracked & needs to be replaced. Even if you looked at it & thought it didn't need it. (Replace the rotor too)

Fixed.

I took it to the dealer and they test drove it and decided they needed to replace the battery, alternator, and the distributor cap. They tested the battery and said it was bad, so when they put in a new one they tested it again only to find that the alternator was not charging it. The distributor cap was an afterthought thanks to the hot chick at the front desk -wouldnt have gotten replaced if she hadn't told the mechanics to check it.

Sign of a bad altenator is the power steering light turning on then the battery light. The it dies out.
